MyFirstChurch – Launching Phase 1

We are excited to announce the opening of our new online community, MyFirstChurch! This is a place to connect with other church members, be involved in groups, sign up for events, and much more!

Phase 1 – April 2nd
We are inviting families with children to join our online community first. This will give parents the opportunity to update their family profile with accurate up-to-date information and set their privacy settings. Children under the age of 14 are hidden from the general users in the system (only those with a background check and safety certification can access children’s information for the purpose of running our church school program). April 2nd we will send out an email inviting families to join MyFirstChurch. Follow the link in the email you receive to create a user ID and password. Feel free to explore the system to find out what it can do for you!

 Phase 2 – May 1st
On May 1st we will invite the rest of the congregation to join the system. Follow the link in the email you receive to create a user ID and password.

We will have group training sessions and articles in Sunday Notes and Tidings with helpful tips along the way.

MyFirstChurch to Launch This Spring

Our journey started in the summer of 2016 when Suzanne, our church Office Manager, was tasked with the job of finding a new database system to replace our old one that was sorely out of date. She spent three months gathering information and testing the systems to find out which one would be the best fit for First Church. She gave a PowerPoint presentation to the business team who endorsed her recommendation to go with Church Community Builder, now known to us as MyFirstChurch.

We signed up with CCB in May of 2017 and put together an Implementation Team consisting of Suzanne, Dawne and Elliott. We have spent the last six months in intense training working with a specialist weekly via video conference to make sure that the system is set up for our best use.

The implementation training is now complete and we are ready to start the process of training others to use the new system. We are beginning our training with church leadership and plan to roll it out to the congregation in the spring.

What is this new Online Church Community, and what does it mean to me?

This new system is so much more than the database we are replacing! It’s our Online Directory, Signup Genius, Basecamp, Survey Monkey, Evite and Calendar all rolled into one!! It’s a safe, secure, private place to get connected to all that’s going on at First Church. You will be able to:

  • Stay in touch with people, news and events at First Church
  • Join a group, register for an event, or find a place to serve
  • Find the places you belong and the people who will grow with you
  • View and print your giving statement

MyFirstChurch is a great way to get connected with the church groups you are involved in. Our group leaders even have their own app to stay connected to their groups!
