Dear Members and Friends,
If you are like me, you have awoken this morning with heartbreak and anger. The shooting at the Robb Elementary school in Uvalde, Texas has left our country shattered. We must respond immediately with prayer for the victims, their devastated parents and grandparents, their siblings and friends.
But prayer is not enough. As people of faith, we must demand restrictive gun laws in the United States. We must vote for candidates who support gun laws, and we must hold accountable those who profit from the sale of guns.
The Meeting House at First Church will be open from 11:00 to 2:00 for prayer and support.
At noon today, the bell in the First Church steeple will toll one time for every victim lost to the shooting in Texas.
