NEW TO FIRST CHURCH OR WEST HARTFORD?

We invite you to come and worship here. We welcome you to inquire about and explore the meaning of membership in First Church and our affiliate denomination,the United Church of Christ.

If you are interested in joining First Church or interested in exploring the possibility, we encourage you to speak to Associate Pastor Barbara Frey or to make your intentions known by filling out the note pad found in the pews.

For the 2007-2008 season there will be the following new member events:
Orientations- Sept.16, Jan. 20, April 13
Joining - Oct. 7, Feb. 10, May 11. The Orientations will be on Sundays at 4:00 . to 6:00 p.m. New members will be received at the 10:00 a.m. Worship Service.

Membership begins with baptism and is followed by: 1)confirmation or profession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; or 2) letter of transfer or certification from another Christian church; or 3) re-affirmation or re-profession of faith. In the U.C.C., baptisms can be administered to persons of any age and we honor baptisms from other Christian churches.
