Gospel Singers

Provides music in an authentic Gospel style to amplify the spiritual message for one Sunday a month. This choir is designed to provide a fun choral experience for people who have little experience or little time available for a weekly choral commitment. At a minimum, the choir member needs to be at the 9:00 a.m. rehearsal prior to the Sunday morning service. In addition, the choir member is encouraged to come to the normal choir rehearsal on the third Tuesday of the month from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. to better learn the anthem.     Jim Boratko brings many years of experience and love of Christian music to our First Church community. Jim is one of a dwindling number of pipe organists in the country and has had extensive training under Claude Means to fine-tune his amazing skills. Along with directing our choirs each week, he has been instrumental (pun intended) in bringing guest artists such as Paul Halley; Chorus Angelicus; George Sovak; and the African Children's Choir.
