How We Serve

Alex's Lemonade Stand

"Love your neighbor as yourself." - Mark 12:31

Part of First Church's vision is to be a caring church. This means tending to our individual members , many who join specifically to be part of a loving community. We have a special ministry to those who are finding their lives limited by age or health. Parish Care makes frequent calls and visits, writes notes and takes food and flowers to these members. This ministry also includes both Care Teams for short term concerns and the Stephen Ministry for more sustaining care.

We also reach out to our community, our region and to the world at large. Twelve percent of our pledges and donations is committed to national and international organizations, to our denomination and also to local groups where our members are active participants. Examples of these are: Covenant to Care, Habitat for Humanity, Hunger Fighters, and Hope Works.
