Starting in December, 2007, the school began using the Workshop Rotation Model. The availability of new rooms on the fourth floor has made this program possibleso these rooms have been redesigned into media-inspired, kid-pleasing workshops that teach Bible stories.
Grade level groups rotate to new workshops each week for four or five weeks, the "rotation" period. Two teachers and a Shepherd accompany each class. The focus is on one Bible story or theme.. In a year, this model will present 6-8 Bible stories. The Workshops are:
JONAH'S WORKSHOP - a place to create, to discover the "artist" within, to cook, to make music, and to use lots of art media.
BIBLE QUEST - a place with maps, large board games, science projects to encounter the Bible lands, places and people.
MOVED BY THE SPIRIT -a desert theme pervades this space where the Bible comes alive through story tellers, drama, puppets, video, and music.
GATHER AROUND THE COMMUNITY - The Bible story calls us to be involved as a faith community in service and action, in care and stewardship of the earth, in love and care for our neighbors.
