The Parish Care Ministry is an outreach ministry of First Church which empowers all members to be connected to one another. Our goal is to attempt to meet special physical, emotional, spiritual and prayer needs of those in our church family.
Trained members work in small groups to provide practical, emotional and spiritual support to church members on a short or longer term basis, depending on need. Team members each take on a role suiting his or her abilities and time available.
Confidential, individual listening and support is given to any of church family experiencing one of life’s challenges. This support comes from specially trained Stephen Ministers.
Meals are made and delivered to church members whose life may be in transition.
A van is available to provide transportation to worship and church activities.
Cards and notes are sent to many church members at important times in their lives such as birthdays, times of joy and times when support is needed such as death or illness.
Contact
is made by mail, telephone or in person with church members who are homebound.
Weekly church bulletins are mailed to homebound church members.
New arrangements are made from the flowers used in worship and then distributed to those in need of encouragement and celebration.
Whenever babies are born and the church is contacted, we will list information in the Tidings and arrange for a rosebud to be on display during the worship service.
Our pastors can be reached at any time. If the church office is closed, call 860-335-0384.
Parish Care involves all of us in the congregation. To be part of this Ministry and for more information or if you have a need, please call Barbara Frey, Mnister of Parish Care, 860-233-9605, ext. 102.
