Tidings/Newsletter

The first issue of Tidings was published January 1950. The scant four-page typewritten epistle was adorned on the masthead with a motif of the crest of the steeple spire with its globe topped by the two Greek letters "chi" and "rho," signifying "Christ above the world."

In his first Pastor's letter, a column entitled "STROKES FROM THE GRANDFATHER'S CLOCK - In the Study," Elden Mills gives insight into the selection of the newsletter's name. Referring to his sabbatical spent in Palestine, he described how he hungered for "Tidings from Home."
