Christian Education's Workshop Rotation Model will begin this Sunday. The schedule of events will be: --Parents are asked to bring children to the 4th floor classrooms at 9:45 a.m. to fill out registration forms for each child. --Parents leave for 10:00 a.m. service. --Teachers will introduce our first Workshop Rotation Model unit on Peace and Peacemakers. Start: 4:00 pm End: 9:00 pm Dr. John Grim, Senior Lecturer and Research Scholar at the Yale University Interdisciplinary Center for Bioethics will be the keynote speaker at the 2008 Sacred Trust Forum to be held at the First Church of Christ Congregational. For decades, environmental issues were considered the concern of scientists, lawyers and policy makers. Now, however, the ethical dimensions of the environmental crisis are becoming more obvious. What is our moral responsibility toward future generations? Can religious and cultural perspectives help solve the environmental challenges? more info

Christian Classics meets at noon in the library to discuss books on religion and spirituality. Bring a bag lunch; coffee and tea are served. Copies of the book are available in the library and new members are always welcome!

Holy Hands

Holy Hands meets at 7-8:30 in Room 404. This is a group of women who enjoy fellowship while doing some handwork such as sewing knitting, scrapbooking, quilting etc. together.

Soup and Scripture meets from 6:30 - 7:00 with a basic meal of soup and bread available from 6:00 on. The psalms are prayed and briefly discussed sequentially.

TAIZE Worship Service

Third Sunday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm

TAIZE Worship Service in the Sanctuary from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The dates for winter/spring 2009 are: January 18, February 15, March 15 and April 19. Taize Worship is an ecumenical, contemporary, contemplative worship service with song, silence, scripture and prayer. Taize is an ecumenical Christian Community that was formed at the end of World War II in Taize, France. The purpose of this community was to promote peace and justice through common worship. The influence of the Taize Community has now spread all over the world.

Food for Thought Book Discussion Group meets at 5:45 in the library for a brown bag dinner followed by a discussion which begins at 6:00.
