Geordie Campbell will lead five evenings of study with a focus on this central and important portion of the Hebrew Scriptures. Sign-up is necessary, and the cost of the workbook is $18. Webster Library 30th Anniversary Celebration Start: 11:00 am The library will be hosting fellowship hour during an open house celebration immediately following the 10 am worship service on Sunday, October 26. Also at that time, a new exhibit of abstract metallic sculptures by local artist, Victoria Jutras Kniering, will be unveiled in the John P. Webster Gallery. All are welcome to attend the worship service and then visit the library for a piece of birthday cake, view the art exhibit and join in the birthday celebration. more info Organ Recital by organist James Boratko Start: 4:00 pm End: 5:00 pm Jim will be presenting a recital on the four manual Austin organ in the Meeting House. The recital will feature works by Bach, Vierne, Franck, and an improvisation on a hymn selected by the audience. The Whitechapel Handbell Choir under the direction of Sara Enger will also be featured in a piece for handbells and organ. There will be a free will offering to benefit the Music and Fine Arts Fund, and refreshments will be served following the recital. more info

Christian Classics meets at noon in the library to discuss books on religion and spirituality. Bring a bag lunch; coffee and tea are served. Copies of the book are available in the library and new members are always welcome!

Holy Hands

Holy Hands meets at 7-8:30 in Room 404. This is a group of women who enjoy fellowship while doing some handwork such as sewing knitting, scrapbooking, quilting etc. together.

Soup and Scripture meets from 6:30 - 7:00 with a basic meal of soup and bread available from 6:00 on. The psalms are prayed and briefly discussed sequentially.

TAIZE Worship Service

Third Sunday of the month from 6:30-7:30pm

TAIZE Worship Service in the Sanctuary from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The dates for winter/spring 2009 are: January 18, February 15, March 15 and April 19. Taize Worship is an ecumenical, contemporary, contemplative worship service with song, silence, scripture and prayer. Taize is an ecumenical Christian Community that was formed at the end of World War II in Taize, France. The purpose of this community was to promote peace and justice through common worship. The influence of the Taize Community has now spread all over the world.

Food for Thought Book Discussion Group meets at 5:45 in the library for a brown bag dinner followed by a discussion which begins at 6:00.
