We are scheduled to go into NYC to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine for Nightwatch. We will have more details coming, but we are hoping that a lot of you will sign up to go & even bring friends if there is room! We will head down to NYC on Friday afternoon and take part in all kinds of events with youth groups from all over at the Cathedral, and on Saturday morning we will spend some time in the city (most likely in Manhattan) before heading home & arriving back at FCCWH in time for dinner. | ||

Once again we invite any who are new to First Church to a special gathering to learn all about our wonderful church family and programs. This is a "no strings attached" meeting with the simple agenda of getting to know one another better, and getting to know the breadth and reach of First Church's many ministries. This meeting will be on February 28 from 4:00 - 5:30 in the afternoon. | ||

If you attended the first orientation meeting and have decided to join First Church, a second meeting will be offered on March 14 from 4:00 - 5:30. This second gathering is to learn more about First Church history and the meaning of membership. New members will then be received into our Church Family on March 21 during our morning worship.

Taize Worship is an ecumenical, contemporary, contemplative worship service with song, silence, scripture and prayer. The Taize Community was formed at the end of World War II in Taize, France. The purpose of this community was to promote peace and justice through common worship. This service is co-sponsored by the Spiritual Life Ministry of First Church and the Spiritual Life Center in Bloomfield, CT. All are welcome. The 2010/2011 Worship Schedule is: October 10, November 14, December 12, January 9, February 13, March 13, April 10, May 8.
