The Details

Our Representative and Guide in P.R.: is Laura Ayala, sister of Rev. Edwin Ayala who leads the Christian Activities Council in Htfd.
About Travel: We will be traveling on American Airlines. Flight times are: 16Apr....Hartford - San Juan....720am // 1105am;.23Apr....San Juan - Hartford...610pm // 1000pm
Fare : $572.00 plus $47.00 tax per person
About Accomodations: We will be staying at a fully equipped church retreat center. Breakfast and some other meals are available there
Our Goal: We want to have meaningful, energetic work projects which might involve some interaction with the people. On another mission trip to PR about 10 years ago, we actually ate lunch prepared by the family or group that we were helping. In addition to hard work, we would like to experience the people and the culture during Holy Week by attending services, processions, etc. In terms of sightseeing and experiencing the beauty and variety of Puerto Rico, we would like to visit Old San Juan, the rainforest, Phosphorescent Bay, take a boat to a world-renowned beach and snorkel and swim.
Island Transportation: Ground transportation may be able to be arranged by churches and groups there, instead of renting vans.
Projected Expenses: for the Senior Youth Group, we will have several fundraisers to offset the trip expenses. Food and lodging and other expenses are estimated to be about $300-400.

REGISTRATION: Only 25 airline seats have been reserved. $100 Deposit required. Reservations with a deposit will be accepted from other youth and adults until December 1. The deposits are nonrefundable after December 1 unless a replacement is found. On February 1, we will need to identify names and passport info per ticketholder.
