Since November 1, 1999, I have been encountering "the Living Christ" in the faith community of FCCC. I enjoy the reciprocity of extending the hand of hospitality and fellowship to children of all ages and seek to weave connections between the generations. This is my first ordained position but I have been nurturing my call to pastor and teach since my teens when I taught church school. After graduating from Southern CT State College, I taught 5th and 6th grade, in Reading, MA for 2 years and then on an army??base in Mannheim, Germany for 5 years. While raising my two sons, I taught part-time in a transitional high school for pregnant teens in New Haven, CT and part-time as a Christian Educator in a local church. Rediscovering my true call again, I became a Commissioned Minister of Christian Education, and completed studies toward ordination at Hartford Seminary and YaleUniversity.
I live in Haddam on the CT River with my husband Frank Closter. My two sons, Ed and Tom, are now adults with their own families. I love the outdoors and I am an avid bicyclist, kayaker and hiker. I also enjoy quilting and reading and traveling.
In the heart of West Hartford we are called by God to grow together, inspiring and engaging one another through worship, learning, fellowship and outreach.
We faithfully serve our diverse community and world, welcoming and nurturing all people in the living Spirit of Jesus.
