Last year, over 6,000 people the world over welcomed a day-by-day opportunity to fast from carbon as part of their Lenten discipline.
 
We on the CT Conference Environmental Ministry Team invite you to join us as we commit to fasting from carbon during Lent.  Beginning Ash Wednesday and throughout Lent, participants will receive a daily email with the day’s suggested carbon-reducing activity.  When possible, this will include a quantitative measure of the carbon reduction resulting from the activity.  Each daily email will also have a section suggesting a weekly focus for the congregation.

Two orientation sessions will be offered to those interested in becoming a member of First Church, one on February 12 and the other on March 11 after worship service. New members will be received into the church on Sunday, March 25. If you are interested in learning more, please speak to one of our pastors.
