What is a Psalm?

What is a Psalm?

From the Pastor – Sunday Worship

A psalm is a sacred song or poem that captures the presence, power, or compassion of God. Psalm 139, authored by King David, is one of the 150 psalms in the Bible. It beautifully portrays God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and intimate knowledge of humanity. Though the exact date of its composition is uncertain, it is believed to have originated during King David’s reign in the 10th century BCE.

Until recently, I had not given much thought to Psalm 139, but as I worked on my sermon based on the psalm and titled “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made,” I became deeply moved, inspired, and intrigued by its evocative language and majestic rhythms.

Join me this Sunday morning and experience its power firsthand!
